Smooth (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Smooth mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
We generate a random device identifier when you first use the App. This identifier is not linked to your Apple ID, advertising identifier, or any personally identifiable information. We also collect basic device metadata such as device model and operating system version.
During onboarding, we collect your preferences to personalize the App experience, including your texting style, reply speed preference, emoji preferences, and conversation pet peeves. These preferences are stored locally on your device and as anonymized analytics events.
When you use the App to generate reply suggestions, you share a screenshot from a dating app. This screenshot is sent to our AI processing service (OpenAI) for analysis. We do not store your screenshots on our servers. Screenshots are processed in real time and are not retained after generating suggestions.
We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage analytics, including which features you use, onboarding progress, and error reports. Session recordings may be captured with all text inputs and images fully masked to protect your privacy.
